Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Plans?

Material Plans are detailed drawings and other supporting documents that put control over your project into your hands. Our Plans are easy to follow guides, perfect for the competent DIY-er or hired builder to use from start to finish. The structures are beautiful modern designs that are straightforward to build, will enhance your life, and add lasting value to your home.

Why did you create Material Plans?

Not everybody has the time and/or budget to hire an architect - especially for a small project - but everyone wants good design. These plan sets are a way for people to find good design within their grasp without spending extra time and money.

Are the Plans customizable?

We created Plans sets that offer some opportunities for customizations to suit individual preferences. These options are laid out in the drawings, renderings and build guide. If you require a deeper level of customization, I am available for consultations and custom projects. Please Contact me for more information on my rate.

Do I need a permit?

We specifically made our designs small enough (less than 200 sq feet) that many jurisdictions will not require a building permit. You may need trade permits to do electrical and/or plumbing work. Check with your local city or county regarding the requirements in your area.

What is your refund/return policy?

Because this is a digital product we do not offer refunds. If you're experiencing technical issues or can't access you purchase, please contact us.

How do I get my Plans?

Once your order has been completed, you’ll receive an email with instructions to get your digital plan file. It will be available to you to download for 24 hours. It is a compressed zip containing multiple PDFs. If you ordered prints, we’ll send those out within a few days.

Can I build multiple structures with my set of Plans?

Your plans are licensed for one build only. If you are interested in building more than one, please reach out and we can arrange a multi-use license. For more on this, please refer to our License Agreement by clicking here.
